The Tyumen State Oil and Gas University carries out with dignity its educational mission. In 40 years of its activity more than 40 000 got their profession for their whole life. Now the institution counts with 34 424 students. They study at 62 chairs of the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University by 51 specialities and 13 schools (including 2 for masters degree), at full day department - 15096 people, by correspondence department 19 082 people and at the evening department 246 people. The majority of students study with "good" and "excellent" notes. They get the scholarships, and have the opportunity to add one or several nominal scholarship, which are of 16 types in the institution, to the basic one.

The education at the Tyumen State University begins with the training to enter the institution. The special structures are created to achieve this aim:

• Centre for Testing and Organization of the training
• Centre of training to enter the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University
• City Technical Lyceum
• Institute of the Additional Education of the Tyumen State Oil and Gas University.

The Tyumen State Oil and Gas University applies the most modern information technologies in process of studies. The general share of "Pentium-2" level PC is up to 70%. The information network is created, linking all academic buildings. 5 multi-media TV lecture rooms are open. We possess 1500 computing units, 53 display classes, included 18 installed in branches. 5 Internet channels and the electronic mail are functioning. The distance studies system is equipped with 18 computer laboratory complexes.

The methodical work is on its due level as well. We published 35 study aids and 267 methodical guides. The electronic manuals developed in Tyumen State Oil and Gas University are approved by the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation.

The materials of the educational-methodical conferences held in the University, are published and then used in process of studies.

The University assists in search of work for its graduates through its own placing in a job service.
