Requirements for foreign citizens applying for admission to

The Tyumen State Oil-and-Gas University (TSOGU)

(Full time/ part time course)

Foreign citizens intending to be educated at the Tyumen State Oil-and-Gas University should submit the documents and application forms within the period from May, 10 to July, 15.

After the preliminary evaluation of the documents submitted (performed by the Department of International Cooperation), provided they are authentic, the university sends original invitations to the applicants via DHL. This invitation enables obtaining the visa.

The academic year starts on 1 September. The applicants should come 1 week before the beginning of the academic year. Before the courses start all new applicants are invited to partake in an Orientation Programme. During this introductory week you will get to know the university, the city of Tyumen and its suburbs. Moreover, you will be offered a short-term course of Russian as a foreign language, leading to a written test. The applicants are also invited to the interview with the professors of the Department you have applied for. The applicants can be admitted only upon agreement of the professors.

The second stage of the evaluation takes place within the period from 1 September to 1 October.  In case the documents are non-authentic, a student is subject to sending down.

Items to be submitted:

·         Application form (set university form);

·          Original certificate of previous studies and a transcript of the student’s academic records. Russian translation is obligatory. The translation should be attested either by a Russian notary or the Russian Embassy in the country where the certificate was issued (by the applicant’s choice);

·         Certificate attesting the equivalence of a foreign diploma, obtained from the Russian Federal Department of Higher Education and Scientific Research (33, Shabolovskaya St; metro station “Shabolovskaya”);

·         Health certificate based on complete physical examination (if obtained in Russia, it should go under № 86, if obtained overseas it should be attested by the official public health authority, valid for 1 year from the day of issue);

·         HIV-certificate, valid for 3 months from the day of issue;

·         Photo 3x4 (6);

·         Study Contract.

The portfolio can be delivered either by post or via Internet.

Students with disabilities whose disability (chronic ailment or handicap) demands extra support must state that on the Application for Admission form.
